Baby Golden Comet Chicks
Baby Golden Comet Chicks

TL;DR

  • Happy New Year, Stubbs Farm fam! We’ve been MIA but not idle.
  • Baby Zane joined the crew just before Thanksgiving—now we’ve got 4 tiny humans 7 and under.
  • Added 30 Golden Comet egg-layers; eggs expected March/early April.
  • Flock Box pre-orders open—no $5 deposit anymore! Pick bi-weekly or monthly, link below.
  • No more delivery (sorry!), but suggest pickup spots in the comments.
  • We’re still alive and clucking—thanks for sticking around!

Now, the full scoop.

Where We’ve Been

Hey chicken lovers (and egg addicts), welcome to 2026! We dropped off the radar during the holidays, but trust me, it wasn’t a relaxing break—it felt like running a marathon while juggling flaming torches. The Stubbs household has been nonstop chaos, and we’re just now catching our breath.

The New Additions

Biggest news: Baby Zane arrived right before Thanksgiving—healthy, cute, and already ruling the roost. Now we’ve got four kids 7 and under… plus chickens. Because why not add more?

We made our own 6 pounder

We also brought home 30 Golden Comet hens, the egg-laying machines of the chicken world. They’re settling in, growing fast, and already making our yard look like a poultry party.

Egg Countdown

These Golden Comets are speedy layers—most start popping out brown eggs around 16–20 weeks—so we’re eyeing first eggs sometime in March or early April. We’ll keep you posted on how they’re looking, how many we’ll have, and when you can snag some fresh ones. Stay tuned!

Flock Box Update

We’re still taking pre-orders for Flock Boxes (meat chicken shares, you know the drill). Good news: We’re waiving the $5 deposit—just tell us which box you want and how often (bi-weekly or monthly). Here’s the order form:

Due to… unpopular demand (aka reality), we’re pausing delivery for now. But if you’ve got ideas for good pickup spots (your neighborhood? a parking lot? your grandma’s driveway?), drop them in the form comments. We want to make this easy!

What’s Next?

More planning, more chaos, more chickens, and hopefully more sleep someday. Hit reply if you want in on eggs, Flock Boxes, or just to say hi—we love hearing from you. Thanks for being the best farm family around. Here’s to a cluckin’ great 2026!

Shoot me a message with questions or pickup ideas. Let’s do this!
